What i'm about,
and how it all started ....

It all started with my first hi-fi back in the early 90’s, when I started collecting 7inch singles to play on my record player! I started buying the official top 10 at the time and at the age of 8 started quickly to realise my taste in music definitely didn’t include rock and cheese of the time! I started liking early dance and kept buying whenever I had the money or the chance to get down to Woolworth’s on a Saturday! Time passed and I became really into early Hardcore/Drum + Bass, which was a strange genre of music for a ten year old to be into! I remember getting the NOW albums which featured the most commercial dance tracks that sometimes included  such artists as General Leavy, The Shamen, The prodigy etc . I loved all that early stuff and started listening to pirate radio stations such as Dream FM, Cool FM and Kiss to get my fix of new material that definitely wouldn’t be available on Tape/ Vinyl!

After years of listening I decided it was time to get into the whole buying records instead of just listening to the radio! I bought my first set of decks when I was 14 which were Gemini direct drives bought off a friend who was a few years older. I tried to mix but got nowhere as I knew no one who could show me and at the time there were no interactive DVD’s to learn from!!! I decided I needed to see how it was done by the professionals so I booked my ticket for an under 18’s rave as I was a very young looking 14 year old lol!!! I went to Camden palace to see the Dreem Teem (Mikee B, Timmi Magic and Spoony) where I finally grasped the concept of cuing and beat matching! This made me buy UK Garage for years as I got bitten by the 1998 garage explosion and then got my Technics 1210 MK2’s which I still own to this day!

From 2000-2002 I was the resident DJ at a night called “The Limit” which was a club night in my local town (Bromley). Here I met up with MC Dialekt and we got on really well and worked together and remain friends and still do sets together to this day!

When 2002 came along with all the Grime I completely lost interest with the UKG scene as the music really wasn’t me! I started again listening to pirate radio stations to get a feel of what was out there! I became torn between two styles, the emerging Breaks scene and the Drum & Bass scene! I started buying D&B and became addicted to the wha-wha jump up sound (Twisted individual, Distorted minds, Zen, Dj Zinc, Hazzard etc) which became a bit dated very quickly (in my opinion) so I was on the lookout again for somthing a little different! When 2005 came along I started going raving to Fabric quite often with mates and was lucky enough the first time I went to catch Fabio & Grooverider live on radio 1. The set started with Fabio playing the liquid of the time which were all dubz then (A.I.- Uprising VIP, Total Science - going in circles etc) which I loved and tried to get the track listing from the BBC website for ages!

After Fabric I wanted to take my brother (C:note) out raving to hear some of the new sounds as he had just turned 18! I worked shifts at the time and he wasn’t working so we decided to go out mid week. I searched for a night mid week and after some deliberation we decided to go to Swerve @ the End. Here I bumped into Aaron Jay or Switch as he was known at the time, and talked to him about the scene. I was lucky enough to be given one of his CD’s which had most of the current dubz with a tracklist! The night was legendary and definitely captivated me on every level. Since then I have been buying and mixing Deep Liquid funk and cant stop buying! I play out at small clubs, House parties and most recently @ a festival.

I now produce music with production partner C:Note and on my own. It shouldn’t be too long before our production levels increase enough to have tracks released. At the moment we have one track ready which hopefully will be hitting the dancefloors soon on dub caled "How do you like it?" Its a Deep roller similar in style to the new Commix, Lomax & Jonny L tracks but with its own unique style.

I have always been fanatical about Dance music and hope to emerge onto the scene. I hope it happens before I get too old retire become Grey and bald and need my pipe, slippers, dog, Blanket, Endless cups of Tea and the daily newspaper LOL!!
